Burg Rheinfels in Saint Goar is the largest castle ruin on the Rhine River.  It was originally built in 1245 and destroyed by French troops in 1794.  We rode a ferry across the Rhine to get to Saint Goar and I rode in my backpack to tour the castle.

The vineyards along the Rhine River

Since the castle sits on such a high hill overlooking the city, we rode the little train up to it.

These were the cannonballs they used in the catapults to defend the castle

I got a little bored with the whole castle-thing!!
