One of the main reasons that we took this trip was to visit the Eagle's Nest in Obersalzburg. This is the famous building built on top of a mountain for Hitler's 50th birthday. He was actually afraid of heights and only visited a few times during World War II. The building survived the war and is now a great place to see the Berchtesgaden Alps.
