The Monastery at Ettal has one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Germany.  The Monastery is still active and the 25 or so monks that live there spend their time brewing beer and liquor.

We also visited the Wies Church.  This is a pilgrimage church that has beautiful frescos and elaborate gold details.  I fell asleep in the car, so Mom and I stayed behind while Aunt Chas enjoyed the church.
