Fasching 2007
Today was the Fasching parade in Wiesbaden. The weather was perfect and I had an awesome time. Since the Army band has too many trombones right now, Daddy got to watch the parade with me.
before the parade I got to ride on the Merry Go Round.
I went to the parade with my friends
Maya, Logan, and Logan's little brother Van.
The people on the floats throw lots of
goodies-candy, plastic toys, balls, towels, little packages of Kleenex (very
popular with the Germans), and packages of chips and popcorn. Mom did a pretty
good job catching things and I was able to catch some stuff in my stroller!!!
All the German bands are dressed in crazy costumes and having a good time takes priority over good playing. Most of the bands have wagons that are pulled behind them that are stocked with beer and you see the musicians drinking in between songs. Only in Germany could you see marching bands drinking beer!!!
Even the army band is a little more
relaxed during Fasching parades.
Daddy and Miss Jen had to have a little
"grown-up" drink. They actually throw little bottles of alcohol from some
of the floats.
