We didn't get to Garmisch until after dinner because we had to wait for Dad to get off of duty. After we checked in to our vacation apartment, we took a quick walk around the neighborhood. About two blocks from the apartment was a nice walking path that had great views of the surrounding mountains. It was a good warm-up for all the hiking we would do over the next two days.
