Holland-August 2006

On Saturday we went to the Het Loo Palace.  This is the home of the vacation home of the Dutch Royal Family and it has beautiful gardens.  Good thing we toured the gardens first, because it was pouring down rain while we were inside the palace.  After the Palace, we went to a Dutch grocery store so Mom could stock up on yummy Dutch treats.  Our hotel had an indoor pool, so I got to swim a little bit before dinner.  We had dinner at a Pancake house-not IHOP, but a traditional Dutch pancake restaurant where all they serve is pancakes.  YUMMY!!!!

Mom loved the shaped boxwood in the gardens, I loved all the fountains.

This is an apple tree that is being trained to grow on a lattice on a wall.  These are very popular in Holland, you see them in city parks and in people's yards.
