Finally our day of hiking-Mom listed the distance above sea level of each of our stops so you get an idea of our altitude.  Anything that you see with snow on it is a peak that is around 4000 meters above sea level

First was a ride in the cable car from Lauterbrunnen (796 meters) to Grutschalp (1489 meters).  Then we got on a narrow gauge train to go up to Murren (1645 meters)

once in Murren we started to hike on the Panorama Trail to Allmandhubel (2430 meters).  This trail is rated as easy and suitable for children-perfect for us!

clouds started to roll in about halfway to Allmandhubel, so we decided to take another trail back down to Murren in case it started to rain.

We passed the Sonnenberg farm on the hike down-this is one of the summer farms for all the cows from Lauterbrunnen.

the path down was very narrow and steep in some places, but Allison did a great job.

Back in Murren we stopped for an ice cream cone, enjoyed looking at the flowers, and did a little souvenir shopping.  It was a long day of walking but Allison was able to keep up and walk the whole way-this is the first time that she has done a full hike without being carried in her pack.
