Neuschwanstein castle is probably the most famous castle in Germany, if not Europe. Everyone knows it because it was the model for the castle the Walt Disney used for his amusement parks. We knew this was someplace that Aunt Chas just had to see.
the
view of the castle from the parking lot
It is a STEEP climb from the parking lot to the castle-as we found out when we
visited last summer with Dad. So, we decided to take the wagon ride to the
top-good idea!!!

hiking up to the Marian Bridge
the Marian bridge is the best place to
take a picture of the castle. It is a very narrow wooden bridge that spans
the gorge that the castle overlooks. It freaks Mom out to be on
it-especially with me on her back-but she was able to stay on it long enough to
get some great pictures.
