The Odenwald region is about 45 minutes southeast of Wiesbaden.  It's a mountainous region that has lots of half-timbered houses, castle ruins, and other neat stuff to see.  We visited two cities today and saw lots of things to visit on future trips.

The first town we visited was Lorsch to see the remains of a 8th Century Benedictine abbey.

As you can see I was ready to go sightseeing!

After Lorsch we traveled through the Odenwald mountains and forests to Michelstadt.  The townhall here was built in 1484 and is one of the most famous sites of the region

After Michelstadt we went to Steinbach to see a church from 821 and a castle, but both of them were closed.  I was glad that they were closed because I got to run around a little bit before heading back to Weisbaden.
