Our last monastery to visit was at Orval.  The monastery is famous not only for it's beer and cheese, but also for the ruins of the original monastery buildings that were destroyed during the French revolution.  We had to drive to the very corner of Belgium where it meets France and Luxembourg to get to Orval.  Of all the places we visited this was my favorite because there was a lot for me to explore.

this is the active section of the monastery that was built in 1927.  Tourists are not allowed in this area. 

I always have to read all the information-you never know when there is going to be a quiz!!!     

since there is no room for me in the back, I guess I will have to drive!!
