Stein on Rhine is a small town in Switzerland that sits right on the Rhine River. The river here is very small, shallow, and very clear--much different from what it looks like when it passes through Wiesbaden. The town is famous for it's half-timbered houses with beautiful frescos painted on the fronts.
The Rhine River
After visiting Stein on
Rhine, we drove about 60 miles to the tiny country of Liechtenstein. It is
one of the smallest countries in the world, and has a capital city about the
size of Lebanon, Missouri.
Castle where the royal family of
Liechtenstein lives.
there isn't much to do in Liechtenstein
except for listen to the cows ring their bells.
on our way back to Germany, we were
stopped at the Austrian border for a security check. The border guard gave
me a Dichman-for those of you not in Germany, these are yummy chocolate covered
marshmallow treats that mom usually doesn't let me eat !!! I love Austrian
border patrol guards!!!
